Metropolitan University Intra MUN 2025: Redefining Leadership for A Changing World.

The Metropolitan University Intra Model United Nations 2025, themed “Redefining Leadership for A Changing World,” was held on July 4th and 5th at Metropolitan University, Sylhet. Over 120 delegates participated in this two-day conference, engaging in discussions, resolution writing, and policy thinking to address critical global issues.
MU Intra MUN 2025 emphasized inclusive development through youth-led initiatives, advancing social justice through youth participation in human rights advocacy and legal reforms to ensure equitable and internationally collaborative leadership.
Day 1 began with the Opening Ceremony inaugurated by the Secretary General Mehzebin Chowdhury. She urged delegates to rise beyond traditional frameworks and lead with responsibility. The session opened with the National Anthem of Bangladesh followed by one minute of silence in honor of the July martyrs. Then the Opening Plenary started by the Plenary President Orkatul Jannat Orpa.
Following the plenary, workshops were conducted to guide the delegates. Committees commenced immediately after, engaging delegates in policy exploration, position presentations and collaborative discussions.
Day 2 featured intensive committee sessions, where policy debates and working paper evaluations took place. Delegates built upon previous discussions and introduced comprehensive resolutions. The day concluded with final negotiations and preparation for closing activities.
The Closing Plenary was attended by the Deputy Secretary General Abdul Hamid MD Hasan, plenary president Mehnaj Rahman Faiza, Mr. Jamal Uddin, Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Professor Sheikh Ashrafur Rahaman, Dean of the School of Law and Proctor of Metropolitan University, Chowdhury Mujaddid Ahmed the advisor of MUMUNA and the director of CSPI, the alumni Shahbaz Naseer and the conference consultant Tahmid Parvez Sany. Their support underscored the academic and institutional significance of the conference. Then the Secretary General Mehzebin Chowdhury officially declared the closing of MU INTRA MUN 2025.
Awards & Recognitions were presented to Best Delegates, Special Mentions and Verbal Mentions. Delegates reflected on their MUN journey, sharing perspectives that echoed the core values of leadership and inclusion.
The conference concluded with a Cultural Night and Celebration, where delegates shared moments of joy, art and fellowship.
The UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL committee addressed barriers to youth participation, identifying structural challenges and digital threats. Delegates proposed UN-monitored legal protections, youth representation quotas and advocacy training partnerships. Grant based financial support for youth innovation was also suggested.
The UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME committee focused on global education transformation. Delegates proposed scholarship programs for marginalized groups, investment in digital access and clean energy-powered schools. Policy proposals also addressed cross-border academic mobility and climate-resilient education infrastructure.
The SPECIAL COMMITTEE FOR REFORMATION ACTION PLAN, in collaboration with Centre for Strategy and Policy Innovation, focused on legal awareness, leadership in education, autonomy of oversight bodies, political inclusivity, constitutional transparency and human rights enforcement. Delegates produced a reform-centered resolution grounded in national realities.

MU Intra MUN 2025 marked a step forward in nurturing future leaders ready to navigate a complex world. Through dynamic discussions on development, rights and reform, the conference inspired delegates to think critically and lead with purpose. MUMUNA continues its journey to redefine leadership with empathy, equity and vision. This Intra MUN stands as a reflection of its unwavering dedication to redefining leadership through empathy, equity and innovation.
