Celebrating IFAD’s 45 partnership with the Government of Bangladesh working in Rural Development

45 years ago, IFAD started its partnership with the Government of Bangladesh to support small-scale farmers to adapt to the changing climate, increase agricultural production, generate employment and improve farmers’ living conditions.
Since then, there have been 37 projects amounting to USD 3.9 billion in financing, reaching over 11.7 million households.
Building roads and flood defenses, helping rural women and youth to find jobs and working with farmers to deal with the impact of climate change.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries.
