The HCTT co-led by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) and the UN, organized a special meeting on 18 January 2021
The Humanitarian Coordination Task Team (HCTT) co-led by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR) and the UN, organized a special meeting on 18 January 2021 to take stock of the collective achievements made in 2020 and to agree on its priorities for 2021. The meeting was co-chaired by the Secretary MoDMR, Md. Mohsin and the UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh, Mia Seppo.
Preparing for and responding to climate-related disasters in the COVID-19 pandemic context such as Cyclone Amphan and the prolonged Monsoon Floods required strong collaboration and solidarity. Under the overall leadership of the MoDMR, the humanitarian community will put emphasis on strengthening disaster information management, increasing readiness level to respond to disasters including Environment Disasters; supporting national and local authorities as per the 2019 Standing Orders on Disaster and, on maximizing local engagement as per the Localization Agenda.
As reflected in the 2021 Workplan of the Humanitarian Coordination Task Team (HCTT) developed in alignment with the SPEED Approach which promotes enhanced Humanitarian-Development collaboration, partners will notably scale up Anticipatory Action with the strong involvement of the Government and in collaboration with the BDRCS-led working group on Forecast-based Financing/Anticipatory Action.
