BSMRSTU MUN Conference Tackles Global Food Security

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) hosted its annual Model United Nations (MUN) conference, the BSMRSTU Diplomatic Rivalry 2024, on June 7th-8th.
The conference focused on the critical issue of global food security, with the theme "Sustainable Solutions for Global Food Security: Balancing Production and Access and Combatting Food Fraud." Student delegates, representing various countries, engaged in lively debates and discussions on topics such as:
Innovative strategies to balance food production with equitable access
Sustainable agricultural practices
The role of technology in enhancing food production
Policies to mitigate food wastage
Stringent measures to ensure the authenticity and safety of food products
The FAO committee specifically addressed challenges related to global food production and access, while the SCBA committee delved into issues specific to Bangladesh's food security. Through these discussions, delegates explored the complexities of food security and proposed practical solutions.
The conference culminated in the drafting of resolutions promoting sustainable practices and collaboration. These resolutions addressed the challenges present in the global food chain and proposed innovative solutions to ensure global food security.
BSMRSTU Diplomatic Rivalry has become a leading platform for students to hone their diplomatic skills and gain valuable insights into global challenges.
