Impact of digital agriculture on smallholder farmers in Bangladesh
০১ মার্চ ২০২৩
Smriti and Samaul are two smallholder farmers from Jessore, Bangladesh. With UNCDF’s technical assistance and grants, iFarmer helped them improve their livelihoods and increase their resilience with access to finance and markets.
iFarmer is an agriculture platform that helps smallholder farmers to access quality agri-inputs through partnerships with agri-input companies and retailers and allows the farmers better market access by aggregating products from the farmers and selling them to institutional buyers, retailers, and wholesale markets.
UNCDF has supported iFarmer with generous funding from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN, the Government of Canada, the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO), Visa Inc and the Australian Government. The United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) has also supported the implementation of the partnership between UNCDF and iFarmer.
